Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Policy (4th Update)

Following the cancellation on May 25th of the state of emergency declared by the Japanese government in April, Advantest has updated its coronavirus policy for employees in Japan.

Work From Home Extended, Some Restrictions Lifted

During the state of emergency, Advantest required remote work in the affected areas. Employees will continue to work from home as much as possible, refraining from travel. When it is necessary for employees to go to the office, we will limit the number of people who can be present at once and stagger commuting times. Overseas business trips remain prohibited in principle. When business travel is unavoidable, approval from the Risk Management Group is required in advance.

Commitment to Health

  • Employees who have symptoms such as fever will not work, and will report all symptoms to the Risk Management Group through their manager.
  • Social distancing will be required in office cafeterias by staggering breaks.
  • In principle, both internal and external meetings and gatherings will be held online. When gatherings are unavoidable, we will wear masks, practice social distancing, limit the duration of gatherings, and restrict them to 10 people or fewer.

Customer Support

Regarding the support services required for customer business continuity, Advantest will continue to provide normal levels of support for while utilizing online support tools.

Production and Logistics

At this time the situation is not significantly affecting production and logistics. However, the impact of COVID-19 remains hard to predict. Advantest will take appropriate measures while closely monitoring developments.
