2021/03/23 Sustainability

Recognized for Contributions to the Wellbeing of Employee Families

TOKYO, Japan – March 23, 2021 – Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) announced that it received “Kurumin” certification from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on February 3, 2021. Kurumin certification is given to companies that plan and execute initiatives for childcare support for employees, and also meet certain requirements based on the government's "Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children."

This certification recognizes the commitment stated in Advantest's April 1, 2018 - March 31, 2020 action plan to "help pregnant employees and those raising children to balance their work and family responsibilities." The company's initiatives to make work environments more supportive, and to review workstyles to improve working conditions, were cited as reasons for the certification.

Previously, in 2011 and 2014, Advantest Group company Advanfacilities Co., Ltd. (AFC), received "Kurumin" certification, and in 2019, AFC was certified as "Platinum Kurumin," a certification that requires companies to provide an even higher level of support for employee families.

Advantest is committed to bettering the work-life balance of each employee, and will continue to promote various initiatives with the aim of creating work environments where employees with family responsibilities can play active roles.
