Selected for Supplier Engagement Leaderboard 2021

In February 2022, Advantest was selected as the highest-rated Supplier Engagement Leaderboard in the Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) conducted by the international environmental non-profit organization CDP(*1).

CDP's Supplier Engagement Rating rates how effectively a company works with its suppliers to address climate change challenges. Advantest was highly rated for its proactive commitment to climate change governance, targeting, supplier engagement, and value chain (scope 3) emissions.

In November 2021, Advantest obtained certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for committing to its 1.5℃ target, which seeks to restrain global temperatures to within 1.5℃ of pre-industrial levels, as determined by the Paris Agreement. This certification recognizes that Advantest's greenhouse gas reduction goals are based on scientific evidence and will contribute to achieving the target. Moreover, in December 2021, the company was promoted to A- rank in the CDP corporate evaluation results.

These achievements are based on the ESG Action Plan formulated by Advantest in 2021, which commits the company to reducing GHG emissions from business activities by 60% by 2030 (compared to FY2018) and sourcing 70% of the company's energy needs from renewable sources by 2030, as well as reducing production times by 30% (compared to FY2020) by reviewing production processes. These achievements are based on a comprehensive evaluation of Advantest’s commitment to highly transparent disclosure of environment-related information.

Advantest will continue to strengthen its commitment to climate change measures and act to achieve a sustainable, net-zero future.
