Advantest Wins National Award for Factory Greening from Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry

TOKYO, Japan – December 9, 2022 – Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) announced that it has received the Director-General's Award of the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry as a part of the Factory Greening Award Program conducted by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
This program aims to recognize factories that have proactively promoted factory greening and have made remarkable improvements to the environments inside and outside their sites. In this 41st year of the awards, in addition to two METI Minister's Awards, six regional Director-General's Awards and 14 Chairperson's Awards of the Japan Greenery Research and Development Center were awarded to winning companies. METI collectively calls these awards the "National Award for Factory Greening."

"Since 1984, Advantest has maintained a green space rate of 28% within its Gunma factory complex. 595 trees of 20 types and 491 hedges of 10 types have been planted on the site, allowing employees to enjoy seasonal scenery throughout the year. In addition to regular clean-up activities around the factory, the company also works actively to improve the environment, for instance by sourcing 100% of the factory's electricity from renewables."
