Advantest to Establish New R&D Location: "Omiya Tech Hub"

TOKYO, Japan—March 25, 2026—Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) today announced that it will establish a new research and development hub, the "Omiya Tech Hub," in Saitama, Japan. This new office will serve as a center for technology and information exchange, connecting the company's major development sites.

Located in an urban area outside of Tokyo, the Omiya Tech Hub will be a strategic development space aimed at strengthening collaboration among Advantest's R&D locations to enhance development capabilities and operational efficiency, securing talent to support the company's future R&D structure, and expanding its R&D facilities. The new hub is scheduled to open in the first half of fiscal year 2027.

Strategically located between Tokyo and Gunma, the new facility in Omiya, Saitama, will leverage its geographical advantage to promote closer communication between R&D teams, linking Advantest's head office in Tokyo with its largest R&D sites in Gunma. This new location will also advance the consolidation of technology and information, including the integration of functions currently handled by the company's R&D center in Sendai, Japan. In addition, by strengthening access to R&D talent in the Greater Tokyo area, Advantest will enhance its competitiveness in talent acquisition.

The new hub will also include lab space to complement existing R&D facilities, creating an environment capable of supporting increasingly sophisticated equipment development and verification. Through the opening of this new hub, Advantest will further strengthen its R&D structure and accelerate the development of innovative test solutions that address the evolving needs of the semiconductor industry.
