This is an option for Advantest’s terahertz optical sampling analysis systems. It is suitable for evaluating the frequency characteristics of radio wave absorbers, printed circuit board materials, polymer materials, etc., which are indispensable for the next-generation wireless communication technology (beyond 5G/6G) and millimeter-wave radar used in ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).
in a wide range of fields for evaluation of properties including transmission characteristics (transmittance, reflectance) and complex permittivity of various materials in the millimeter wave to terahertz region.

Terahertz Source Module TAS1120 (Low frequency type: 0.03 - 2 THz)

  • Easy to use all-in-one THz source; a photoconductive antenna and a hyper-hemispherical silicon lens are included in a fiber pigtailed compact housing.
  • THz waves are generated by introducing 1.55 µm ultra short laser pulses.
  • Suppression of THz wave amplitude variation caused by fluctuations of temperature using an on-state current monitor and a thermistor embedded in the bias circuit.

Terahertz Detector Module TAS1220

  • Easy to use all-in-one THz detector; a photoconductive antenna and a hyper-hemispherical silicon lens are included in a fiber pigtailed compact housing.
  • THz waves are sampled by introducing 1.55 μm ultra short laser pulses.
  • Built-in transimpedance (current-voltage transfer) amplifier with 500 kHz bandwidth makes for a simpler measurement system.
  • To be used with TAS1120 Terahertz Source Module (0.03 to 2 THz)
