2022/07/15 Sustainability

TOKYO, Japan–July 15, 2022–Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) has produced and released a video introducing its biotope--one of the largest biotopes operated by any Japanese company--on the grounds of the company’s Gunma R&D Center.

Biotope Introduction Video (running time : about 5 minutes)

Established in 2001 with the aim of restoring the original ecosystem of the Kanto plain, Advantest's biotope has a total area of 17,000 m2. Now home to various local species, it is widely appreciated as an environmental education zone where employees learn about the importance of the global environment, and where local residents visit to learn about biodiversity. Twenty-one years after its founding, the biotope now plays a major role as an optimal environment for the conservation of the local ecosystem, protecting and cultivating endangered species, and facilitating the calculation of CO2 absorption rates.

The video just launched features beautiful images of the biotope, as well as the creatures and native plants that live there, and introduces Advantest's joint research with Gunma University. Narration is provided by "Mimiyomi," Japan's first narration office for the visually impaired.

As shown forth in this video, Advantest is committed to a "nature positive" outlook that drives the company's contributions to biodiversity conservation.
