TAS7400TS

Terahertz Optical Sampling System TAS7400TS

Affordably priced multi-purpose terahertz spectroscopy system with accurate measurement

The system uses two channels of ultra short pulse lasers (1.55 μm) with either biased output (for THz generation) or signal input (for THz detection). Based on Advantest's TAS7500TS high-end terahertz spectroscopy system, the TAS7400TS offers accurate measurement at a lower price.

Terahertz Source Module
TAS1110 (Standard Type: 0.1 - 4 THz) / TAS1120 (Low frequency type: 0.03 - 2 THz)

  • Easy to use all-in-one THz source; a photoconductive antenna and a hyper-hemispherical silicon lens are included in a fiber pigtailed compact housing.
  • THz waves are generated by introducing 1.55 μm ultra short laser pulses.
  • Suppression of THz wave amplitude variation caused by fluctuations of temperature using an on-state current monitor and a thermistor embedded in the bias circuit.

TSpectral amplitude of TAS1110 (Using THz wave detection module TAS1230)

Intended purpose

  • THz time-domain spectroscopy

Terahertz Source Module
TAS1130 (Broadband type: 0.5 - 7 THz)

  • Cherenkov type THz wave source module utilizing non-linear optical crystal (LiNbO3) waveguide.
  • Achieves excellent spectral flatness compared to a conventional photoconductive antenna (PCA) and significantly lower spectral absorption compared to using bulk crystals.
  • Compact and easy-to-operate: simply introduce excitation light into the input pigtail fiber.

Spectral comparison of Cherenkov source and previous terahertz source

Intended usage

  • Broadband THz wave source for time-domain spectroscopy
  • Difference frequency generation of THz waves
  • THz frequency comb generation

Terahertz Detector Module TAS1230

  • Easy to use all-in-one THz detector; a photoconductive antenna and a hyper-hemispherical silicon lens are included in a fiber pigtailed compact housing.
  • THz waves are sampled by introducing 1.55 μm ultra short laser pulses.
  • Built-in transimpedance (current-voltage transfer) amplifier with 500 kHz bandwidth makes for a simpler measurement system.
