Scalable Ecosystem

From pre-silicon verification through silicon bring-up to automated data analysis, no company can do it alone. Hence SiConic cultivates an open and unified environment that hosts custom solutions and enables industry leading partners to contribute.

Types of ecosystem extensions

  • Independent or device-specific extensions: SiConic can host diverse applications required for a specific silicon environment. These might be individual tools or system software required to operate the device. Each might communicate with the device through SiConic Link interfaces.
  • Complementary extensions: Complementary tools are attached to standard interfaces of SiConic to fulfill anticipated needs: e.g. Lauterbach TRACE32(TM) is started from the SiConic Explorer with a single click of a button. For this to work, the user configures TRACE32 in a SiConic project. Similarly, temperature settings and measurements of a thermal control unit are available once connected and configured in SiConic.
  • Integrated solutions as extension of the SiConic core capabilities: They offer augmented flows and automated execution that seamlessly combine the strengths and toolset of SiConic with a user's preferred offering of a SiConic partner: e.g. PSS solutions show readable test execution traces in the SiConic Explorer enabled by runtime support of an EDA tool such as Cadence Perspec System Verifier.

An expanding list of solution categories are supported in the SiConic Ecosystem.

Embedded Software Debugger

"Lauterbach is excited to collaborate with Advantest on the new SiConic ecosystem, which provides a unified, automated and scalable environment for design verification and silicon validation." said Norbert Weiss, Managing Director of Lauterbach GmbH. "Our market-leading TRACE32® debugging tools enable developers to detect and subsequently eliminate any errors very quickly and easily."

Support for PSS Test Generation and Runtime

"Scaling of AI and mission-critical end applications such as automotive ADAS brings escalating complexity and quality challenges that require new solutions," said Paul Cunningham, senior vice president and general manager, System Verification Group, Cadence Design Systems. "Cadence is leading in verification solutions with state-of-the-art, top-level verification by our Perspec System Verifier, based on PSS. We're excited to partner with Advantest to extend our solutions onto silicon – leveraging PSS content to silicon, with the controllability and observability of SiConic, will enable joint customers to reach unprecedented coverage and deep insights into challenging designs."

“Siemens EDA is excited to be partnering with Advantest on its new SiConic platform, providing seamless reuse of stimulus scenarios modeled in PSS from pre-silicon verification to post-silicon bench testing. This is a significant step in bringing PSS to the forefront of verification methodologies. Siemens EDA believes that PSS represents a leap in verification methodology, doing for verification of complex SoCs and AI Accelerators what UVM did for IP-level verification. Questa Portable Stimulus provides unique usability features to integrate PSS seamlessly into the verification flow making it easier for pre- and post-synthesis users to take full advantage of this powerful technology,” said Abhi Kolpekwar, Vice President and General Manager of Siemens EDA Digital Verification Technologies Division.

“Siemens EDA and Advantest have a long history of joint development on many design-for-test (DFT) technologies including Tessent Streaming Scan Network (SSN) and IJTAG,” added Ankur Gupta, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Digital Design Creation Platform at Siemens EDA. “Collaborating on SiConic and Questa Portable Stimulus strengthens this long-running partnership to provide our users with TTM improvements and higher productivity.”

"Post-silicon validation engineers are searching for a richer suite of tests to increase quality and reduce time to market,” said Sanjay Bali, senior vice president of strategy and product management at Synopsys. “Our collaboration with Advantest provides mutual customers with a unified environment based on Advantest’s SiConic platform and Synopsys VC Portable Stimulus. Together, we are enabling semiconductor companies with an automated silicon validation approach to improve test quality and reduce in-field failures by leveraging their investment in a proven tool chain and extensive test suites at the pre-silicon phase for post-silicon validation.”
